A New Era in Information Technology! New "Appiaries" Function Eliminates the Need for Server Side Development.

26 Mar 2013Pressrelease

BaaS* services, which provide APIs for server side functions such as customer management or database functions in mobile app development, are currently attracting a lot of attention. By using "Appiaries," apps can be developed more efficiently in terms of cost, speed and resources.

*BaaS: Backend as a Service A Type of Cloud Service

On March 26, 2013, PCPhase Corporation (Head Office: Shibiya Ward, Tokyo, CEO: Kazuhiro Yoshida, hereinafter "PCPhase"), the mobile solutions company, released additional new functions for "Appiaries"(http://www.appiaries.com/), a BaaS (Backend as a Service) service.

The new functions are described below.

■Push Notification Function (initially released only as a demonstration version)

This function sends out push notifications to iPhone and Android apps at specified times, using information entered in the Appiaries management screen. Appiaries provides a feature for distribution of push notification to Google and Apple, thus relieving the developer from the burden of implementing this feature by oneself. Push notifications to selected recipients based on their attributes are also available.

■User Management Function for Individual Apps

This function allows user information to be managed for individual apps. Because user properties can be customized, you can obtain the ones that fit your services and utilize them as marketing data.

We plan to regularly add new functions to Appiaries which will assist you in your mobile app development.

■Appiaries: http://www.appiaries.com/

Appiaries is a BaaS service that was first released in beta form in March, 2012, independently developed by PCPhase. BaaS refers to cloud services which provide server side systems (database access and user management etc.) through designated APIs, for mobile app and web services. By utilizing Appiaries, service developers do not have to develop or operate new server side systems, and so can concentrate only on development for the client side, leading to shorter development times.

■A free demonstration version of Appiaries is available to try out.

The demonstration version offers the same functionality as the commercial version, and is being offered at absolutely no charge.
